AssetLab Setup · Tutorial 02

Sites, Buildings & Locations

Every asset lives somewhere, filed under a three-tier place hierarchy: Site → Building → Location. AssetLab is built multi-site first — run a whole portfolio of properties from one system — but it serves a single site just as well. The trick is deciding what each tier means for you. Here are three ways to set it up.

How AssetLab is designed
Multi-site — a portfolio of properties

The native model. A Site is a property, campus, or geographic location; Buildings are the structures on it; Locations are the rooms inside. Add as many sites as you manage and report across all of them.

What each tier means here

SiteA property, campus, or geographic location
BuildingA structure standing on that site
LocationA room or space inside a building

Best for

  • Organizations with more than one property
  • Portfolios spread across a city or region
  • Anyone who expects to add sites over time
